Development Technician

We are looking for a Development Technician to work in our R&D Material Development and Laboratory unit. This position is temporary until the end of 2023.

Nokian Tyres is looking for what is beyond the next generation of tyres. As part of our Material Development team your role will be essential in developing the innovations of tomorrow. We offer you a challenging role in a modern, high-performing team where you can make use of your talent.

In this position, you will work at the very core of our materials development. Laboratory unit provides analysis results for R&D and Production purposes. Your role will be an important part of material development team and requires wide expertise in different analysis methods, solution-oriented mind set and willingness to learn. 

Key responsibilities:

• Laboratory activities such as sample preparation and rubber compound testing
• Carrying out various tasks of new product development projects and quality control analysis
• Active participation in compound development
• Laboratory method development
• Working as a team member in the laboratory team
• Secure a safe, compliant and positive work environment

What we expect from you:

• B.Sc. in Chemistry or Laboratory Science or a trained laboratory technician with related experience
• 1-2 years professional experience in laboratory work or newly graduated
• Experience in operating various laboratory instruments
• Fast learner and able to manage several duties simultaneously
• Innovative, active and your working style is analytical and hands-on
• Comfortable to work with different software environments
• Ability to work as a member of a team and under pressure
• Able to use Finnish and English as working languages
