We are looking for Game Developer (Game Studio)

We are expanding our Game Development team and looking for a Game Developer to join our team. As a Game Developer you will be part of our enthusiastic and highly skilled Game Development team developing top-notch real-money games using modern tools provided by Veikkaus’ Game Development & Tech Support Team. The games you create will be widely distributed, including both land-based and online distribution channels. 

As a game developer, you will be part of a small game development team focused on creating new and exciting games. Work is done in close cooperation with game artists, producers, backend team, concept team and QA. Our typical game team consists of 2 game developers, 2 graphical artists, and a game producer. Work is usually done in a Scrum/Kanban inspired manner. However, the team has a freedom to organize their workflow as fits the best.

As a game developer, you will design and develop game mechanics and features together with other team members. You will have the support of senior and lead developers, but you will have freedom and responsibility for your own work. This role will also contribute to code reviews, game components, concept work, support tasks, or other tasks in the game lifecycle.

We expect from you:

• Prior experience in game development
• Strong experience in Typescript
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a team and drive to move things forward
• Passion for creating world-class games

Considered as a plus:

• Familiarity with shaders (GLSL, HLSL)
• Experience in C++/C# or Java
• Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.)
• Familiarity with animation tools (Spine, 3dsMax, Blender)
• Knowledge and understanding of Linux environment
• A public GitHub profile or similar

Our office is located in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki, Finland. Traditionally we have preferred on-site working, but during COVID-19 situation we have introduced various agile remote working methods.

Veikkaus as a company will perform a drug test and security clearance check (According to the Act on Security Clearance (726/2014)) to the person selected for the position.
